UCLA (-3) over No. 20 California

Everybody likes Cal in this spot, and it is easy to see why. The Bears played a miserable game against Utah but managed to keep things close, and the public has bailed on UCLA after back-to-back losses. The result? The line has slipped all the way down to a single field goal in some spots, and to be frank, I prefer Jim Mora and company at times when they face zero pressure nationally. This is one of those times.

No. 19 Toledo (-14) over UMass

I don’t like this line at all, and I’d advise you to stay away. With that on the table, Toledo is the far superior team, and if you got this line at or near the opener at -9.5, congratulations to you. The value is gone, but I don’t want to go against Toledo right now and you shouldn’t either.

Tulsa (+10.5) over No. 18 Memphis

Nearly 70% of the action (via Vegas Insider) has come in on Memphis on the heels of their impressive victory over Ole Miss, but the line has actually dipped from 11 to 10.5 in the past day or so. That is a plain sign that the sharp handicappers are fading the Tigers, and we’re going to join them. It isn’t going to fun to root against Paxton Lynch and the Memphis offense, but catching double-figures in a letdown spot is the play.

No. 17 Oklahoma (-14.5) over Texas Tech

I’m rolling with Oklahoma after what was an extremely impressive win over Kansas State. It seems impossible that a 55-0 victory could be flying under the radar, but more than two-thirds of the action is on Texas Tech and the line keeps rising. The smart guys are on the Sooners, and they are another team (much like UCLA) that is easier to bet on when there isn’t a ton on the line.
