Georgia Tech (+6.5) over No. 9 Florida State

I can’t quit Georgia Tech, even when I want to. The Yellow Jackets are inexplicably bad this season, but in this situation, the line stinks to high heaven. Florida State should be laying double-digits given the disparity between the two teams, but Vegas knows something that we don’t, and my contrarian thought process won’t let me take the “easy” pick in the ‘Noles.

Tennessee (+15.5) over No. 8 Alabama

Alabama is sandwiched between games against Texas A&M and LSU, and while Tennessee is a rival for the Crimson Tide, this is a letdown spot. The Vols aren’t a traditional 3-3 team in that they are quite talented, and I can’t see Alabama running way and hiding. Throw in my nature to take big underdogs in conference games, and this one is easy for me.

No. 7 Michigan State (-16.5) over Indiana

Stay far, far away from this game. The Spartans were 0-6 against the spread before covering against Michigan, but while they had the cover in hand before the final play, MSU isn’t as good right now as their record indicates. At the same time, Indiana is brutal at times, and at some point, the Spartans are going to cover as a big home favorite. I’m betting that it happens this week, but I’m not confident.

Miami (+6.5) over No. 6 Clemson

Clemson has exceeded every rational expectation, and I think they will win outright this week. However, Miami has the talent to upend the Tigers if everything goes according to plan, and catching nearly a touchdown at home is a blessing for folks who fade the public. I would wait until closer to game time to see if you can get a full touchdown, but give me the ‘Canes.

***No line is currently available for Washington/Stanford. When in doubt, take the points***
