Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski (8,100): Gronk had was back in the end zone in week 6 with 50 yards on his three catches.  He has scored double-digit DraftKings points in every game this season, and he should be again very involved in the New England passing attack against the Jets.  If you can afford him, there is little question that he’s the best TE option although you can potentially get more value with some of the other picks on this list.

Antonio Gates (5,000): If you can’t afford Gronk, my second-best option would be Antonio Gates. Gates is in an amazingly good matchup against the Raiders who have been unable to defend the tight end all season and have allowed Gates 12 career touchdowns in their 24 previous meetings.  Gates has looked strong since returning from his four-game PED suspension.  He has caught nine passes in each of the two games he played finishing with 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Steelers in week five and following that with 95 yards against the Packers last week. Keenan Allen is missing practice this week but expected to play Sunday, but either way Gates would be lined up for a monster game.

Travis Kelce (4,900): Kelce is in a great matchup this week as well taking on the Steelers who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.  Chelsea led the Chiefs in targets last week and should be lined up for another busy game on Sunday since the Chiefs are likely to be without Jeremy Maclin along with Jamaal Charles who is out for the season.  Kelce is about the only Chiefs player to take a look at this weekend.

Delanie Walker (3,900): Walker could have Marcus Mariota or Zach Mettenberger at QB this week, but he continues to be a solid value play whoever is under center. He’s in a good matchup against the Falcons who rank 27th in the NFL against fantasy TE.  Walker is also coming off a nice game last week in which he pulled in eight of his ten targets for 97 yards.

Ladarius Green (2,900): As the second tight end on his own team, Green has a limited ceiling, but the matchup against the Raiders is good enough that he’s a solid cheap play.  Green has stayed involved in the Chargers passing attack even with Gates’ return and it was Green who caught Philip Rivers TD pass to a tight end last week finishing with three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. Barring injury, it’s hard to see Green catching more than five or six passes, but he has been targeted at least four times every game he has played this season and has at least 45 yards in all but one of those contests.

Week 6 picks: Gronk, Greg Olsen, Delanie Walker, Zach Ertz
