Charles Sims-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs offense hasn’t been great, but somehow it has been able to sustain a pair of productive fantasy football running backs. Doug Martin has been exceptional the past two games which has overshadowed his backfield-mate’s good numbers keeping Charles Sims as a nice value option.

Last week, the Bucs were on a bye, but in week 5 Sims caught four passes for 85 yards and ran 12 times for 51 yards against the Jaguars.  He has emerged as the team’s passing-down back partially due to his abilities in pass protection and partially due to his skills as a receiver.  Sims caught a touchdown pass in week 3 and week 4, so he’s been a fantasy asset for three weeks in a row.

Sims ceiling is limited since he’s sharing time, but he’s a nice bargain option at just 3,600 on DraftKings and 5,700 on FanDuel. He’s available in almost exactly half of ESPN leagues, and he could see his role increase if Doug Martin cools off after his torrid last few weeks.  The Bucs will likely be playing from behind pretty often going forward which should result in the passing situations which will give Sims opportunities.
