Odds

Given their lack of success in recent seasons and the fact that Pistons are one of those teams that’s hard to peg in terms of where they’ll end up in terms of record this season, Bovada having their title odds at +15000 seems just about right. It clearly shows that there is a near zero chance of them actually winning the title, but it gives them at least some respect to not make the line as astronomical as many other teams in the league.

Following the same line of thinking, the +10000 odds for the Pistons to win the Eastern Conference seems just about right as well. The Pistons, if everything breaks right for them in a number of areas, could very well be a playoff team out in the East. Even if they do make the playoffs, they aren’t the caliber of team that’s going to be atop the conference at any point in this season.

Playing in the same division as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and Indiana Pacers, the Pistons having +6600 odds to win the Central Division actually seem a bit low. If anything, that number should be closer to their East title odds considering at least two of their divisional opponents are projected to be at the top of the standings for much of the season.
