Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs made a beautiful diving catch to get his team six points

The Minnesota Vikings fell behind in the early going of their Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions, but they’ve been clawing their way back over the second and third quarters to try and pick up an important win in the division. If Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs has anything to say about it, Minnesota will definitely not be losing this game.

Early in the third quarter as the Vikings trailed by only two points, Teddy Bridgewater threw a deep ball to the speedy rookie in Diggs. The ball may have been a little overthrown, but Diggs accounted for it by turning on the afterburners and then making a beautifully smooth diving catch into the endzone for the touchdown:

That tweet might be exaggerating slightly in terms of that being “Catch of the Year.” However, I’m not trying to take anything away from Diggs because that was incredible effort and concentration to catch up to that overthrown ball and then time the dive well enough to make and maintain the grab.

After not seeing the field to in the Vikings first three games of the season, Diggs has really come on for the offense in the past two weeks. That touchdown reception put him at five catches for 92 yards in a touchdown on Sunday to go with the 216 yards receiving on 19 catches that he’s produced over the past two weeks. If he can keep this up and keep making plays like that, the Vikings will definitely have an incredibly dangerous new weapon.
