The NBA on TNT crew is back for another season, and Shaq is in midseason form when it comes to not saying things right.

With the NBA returning to our lives on Tuesday night, so too returned the NBA on TNT crew and all of their hijinks. While we have a handful of Thursdays ahead of us that will be filled with commentary from everyone’s favorite NBA analysis team, things are off to a hot start on opening night.

Not only did we get Chuck guaranteeing on live television that the New York Knicks were going to make the postseason this year, but halftime brought our first Shaq moment of the year.

He didn’t trip over anything physical — just the pronunciation of Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic’s name.

It’s not that hard of a name to get either. This also can’t possibly be the first time that Shaq has ever said this name, but it sounds as though it’s the first word he’s ever saying.

This is why we love the NBA on TNT team, as it’s not so much about delivery as it is execution. They’re perhaps the most knowledgeable and intelligent team of analysts in all of sports pregame shows, and they’re not afraid to skate over things to get to the finer details. Some might think of that as sloppy, but it’s oddly charming for this crew and one of the reasons we love them.
