49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick ignored a wide open receiver to hand the ball off for a loss.

Things aren’t going well for the San Francisco 49ers. After years of dominating the NFC with consecutive NFC Championship Game appearances and a trip to the Super Bowl, the 49ers have fallen from grace and are not amongst the most laughable teams in the league.

No play might sum up the 49ers struggles better than this play below. THe 49ers offense is lined up at their own three-yard line, and wide receiver Torrey Smith is lined up uncovered to Kaepernick’s left.

Before the snap Smith is trying to get Kaepernick’s attention for what should’ve been a 97-yard touchdown reception with the St. Louis Rams stacking the box and expecting the run.

Instead, Kaepernick still hands off the football and the 49ers end up losing yards on the play.

As the play develops and Kaepernick hands off the ball, Smith loses his mind and jumps up and down in frustration. Another receiver is open on the far side as his would-be defender blitzes and nearly gets the safety by tackling the running back in the end zone.

Two wide open receivers, both ignored by Colin Kaepernick.
