Fantasy football week 8 sleepers: 5 wide receiver sleepers
Eddie Royal-Chicago Bears
Don’t forget about Royal as the Bears come off their bye week. Even with Alshon Jeffery back, Royal should be a solid play and actually could find much more room to work as teams focus on the Bears’ star receiver. Two weeks ago before the bye, Royal caught five of his seven targets even with Jeffery starting across from him. He had 49 yards in that game against the Lions and should be able to post decent numbers against the Vikings in another NFC North matchup today.
Royal should have been able to get some rest during the team’s bye week, and hopefully he can put his ankle injury from earlier this season fully behind him. Royal has shown a great connection with Jay Cutler in the past, so I expect solid production now that both are healthier and have had a week to work together through the bye.
Royal is owned in less than 20% of ESPN season-long leagues but can be a nice bye week fill in this week if you need some help. If you’re playing daily fantasy sports, Royal costs 3,500 on DraftKings and 5,100 on FanDuel. He’s a medium-risk play, but I like his upside this week at his low price.
