The Kansas City Chiefs absolutely hammered the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium in London, England, winning 45-10. The game was never in doubt, with the Chiefs scoring 24 unanswered points in the first half to have a 24-3 lead at the intermission. Matthew Stafford never got on track, throwing a pair of interceptions.

Kansas City was able to run the ball at will, churning out 198 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries. Charcandrick West was able to lead the way, rushing for 97 yards and a score on 20 attempts. Detroit did nothing of note, with Calvin Johnson posting a respectable five catches for 85 yards.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Travis Kelce

Kelce was dominant throughout the game, taking advantage of the absence of middle linebacker DeAndre Levy. Kelce was able to exploit the soft underbelly of the Lions defense, catching six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. Kelce is the emotional lightning rod of this team, and he came through in a big way.

2. Justin Houston

Houston has been one of the best players in the National Football League throughout his five-year career, and he showed why on Sunday. Houston racked up 1.5 sacks to give him 5.5 on the season, and recorded his first interception of the campaign. Houston also had a pass deflection.

3. Alex Smith

Smith was nothing special through the air, but his legs made all the difference in the first half. Smith ran for a 49-yard gain in the first quarter and ended up with 78 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Smith also threw for 145 yards on 18-of-26 passing with a pair of touchdowns and no interceptions.

Odds

Kansas City was favored by 3.5 points and easily covered the spread against Detroit.
