Jeremy Langford-RB-Chicago Bears (2.8%)

The Bears’ Matt Forte dodged the season-ending injuries of Le’Veon Bell, Steve Smith, and Khiry Robinson, but he was forced to leave the game and there is no timetable for his return at this point.  Forte’s absence will leave a very nice hole for rookie Jeremy Langford to fill making him the second-best option at running back behind DeAngelo Williams.

Langford looked solid in his first real work in the NFL running for 46 yards on his 12 carries on Sunday after Forte left. He didn’t catch the one pass thrown his way, and it came in a critical situation as the Bears were possibly driving for the winning score.  So far this season, he does have two rushing touchdowns, two catches, and 31 receiving yards in his very limited playing time this season for coach John Fox.

It doesn’t look like his time will be limited any more, as Chicago will have to give the Detroit-native plenty of work for as long as Forte is out.  Langford gets a great matchup to start his run as the Bears’ starting RB as he takes on the Chargers this week on Monday Night Football.  San Diego has allowed over 100 yards rushing in six straight games, so Langford could be lined up to make a splash this week as long as he gets the workload he’s expected to if Forte is out.
