Tavon Austin-St. Louis Rams (45.0%)

The Rams are finding ways to get the ball into their playmakers hands, and Tavon Austin has found some extra room to work with due in part to the emergence of Todd Gurley as an outstanding feature-back.  Coach Jeff Fisher has done a good job of getting Austin involved each week, and the former West Virginia standout is getting work both in the rushing and receiving game.

In week 8 against the 49ers, Austin scored a touchdown on the ground and through the air finishing with 21 yards on three carries and 98 yards on four catches.  He has at least 60 all-purpose yards in three of his last four games, and has become the team’s go-to option when they have to pass the ball.  While the Rams are a run-first attack, Austin could have some very nice games if St. Louis is forced to play from behind.

If you’re looking on the fantasy football waiver wire for bye week help at receiver, Austin is the top name to look for since the Rams are past their bye and have a nice stretch ahead of them.  This week, St. Louis visits the Vikings before coming home for the Bears and then taking on the Ravens in Baltimore. Austin is still boom-or-bust due to his reliance on big plays, but he’s been hitting on enough of them and is involved enough in the Rams’ attack to be my top WR pickup.
