Can we get a slow clap for the Clemson Tigers, please. Really quick, let’s get that slow clap cooking.

You earned it, guys.

Despite being the higher-rated team. Despite playing at home. Despite carry a buttload of momentum into Saturday’s game, Clemson was up against it. An entire nation of football fans was watching and waiting for the Tigers, playing their first ever home game as a No. 1-ranked team, to stumble against Florida State. Echoes of 51-14 and “We gon’ do it big den” were trumpeting around the Tigers.

They shut up the naysayers, for at least one week.

The Tigers are still the most intriguing team in the nation. Every game is a quest for legitimacy to prove that “Clemsoning” is not a thing. Syracuse, Wake Forest, and even a rudderless South Carolina – all are potential stumbling blocks, regardless of record and acumen. Dabo Swinney’s biggest job will be keeping his team’s foot on the gas and hungry for glory. Pressure will mount with every passing contest. For now, though, the Tigers continue to BYOG.
