Donteea Dye-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As a total flier, check out Tampa’s Donteea Dye who is expected to get the start for Tampa today in place of the injured Vincent Jackson.  Dye is an undrafted rookie out of Heidelberg, but he’s been pressed into the starting lineup due to injuries to both Jackson and Louis Murphy.  There isn’t many other options at WR for Tampa this week so Dye could end  up with a solid stat line.

Last week, Dye also got the start but managed just one catch for four yards.  He was targeted three times by fellow-rookie Jameis Winston, but Tampa was playing from ahead, so they didn’t throw the ball quite as much as usual.

Today, Dye and the Bucs are taking on the Giants who were demolished by the Saints through the air in their most recent game. While the return of Jason Pierre-Paul could help their pass rush, I don’t expect New York’s secondary to have figured everything out in the last week. There should be chances for the Bucs through the air, and there should be plenty of space for Dye to operate since New York will be focused on Mike Evans.

Dye is a virtual unknown at this point and is owned in just 0.2% of ESPN leagues.  He is available for the minimum salary on both DraftKings (3,000) and FanDuel (4,500).  Dye is a huge risk, but he does have some upside if you’re desperate in deep leagues or need a minimum-salary play.
