35. Bill Snyder Family Stadium (Kansas State)

Often you see campus structure named after a former head coach, but Bill Snyder has meant that much to Kansas State that the university decided to honor him with the name Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Standing as the home to the Kansas State Wildcats since 1968, the stadium was named after the family atmosphere in which Coach Snyder has helped bring to the program in Manhattan, Kansas, since he took over in 1990.

In August of 1996, Bill Snyder Family Stadium hosted the first athletic competition in the relatively new Big 12 Conference as the Wildcats defeated Texas Tech, 21-14.

Basically the entire stadium has been updated and renovated with new additions such as a five-level press box, added luxury suites, new locker rooms, new strength and conditioning facilities, added seating and it wouldn’t be complete without an 11-foot statue of Bill Snyder residing outside the gates.

The limestone buildings surrounding the field are awesome to look at and explore on game days and this happens to be home to one of the toughest places to play in the Big 12, even resulting in a 26-game home win streak from 1996-2000.

Bill Snyder is a coaching legend and he deserves a stadium named after him – especially one that is such a joy to visit.
