28. Michie Stadium (Army)

The Army Black Knights aren’t one of the more successful teams in the nation any longer, but calling Michie Stadium home is definitely something to brag about. This 38,000-seat stadium opened in 1924 and it’s unique because it has a great view with a mountainous backdrop and even a reservoir right outside the east wall.

You might think that the Black Knights have never been very good at football, but that’s just not the case. Although Army has had only one winning season in the past 20 years, the Black Knights have actually won three national titles in their history – albeit, they occurred in the 1940s.

Other than having a pretty awesome view on a football Saturday, Michie Stadium earned its name from Dennis Michie, a former cadet at the academy who was credited for starting the football program while still in school and he put together the first team in 1890, which he also coached. He was the class of 1892.

If you’re looking to ever catch a game at a stadium played by one of the military schools, Michie Stadium is the premier venue to check out. So much rich history and quite the atmosphere for a college football game from a non-contender.
