49. Mountaineer Field (West Virginia)

Constructed in 1979 and opened in 1980, Mountaineer Field, otherwise known as Milan Puskar Stadium, is home to one of the most raucous environments in college football. Many people think that football in SEC territory reigns supreme, but don’t tell that to the 60,000-plus that pack this venue every Saturday.

Morgantown, W.V., is one of the most unique college towns in the country as the sports fans are pretty avid and the atmosphere is much different from a normal run-of-the-mill college stadium.
Not Big 12 team wants to travel to Morgantown to play a big game, not because of any poor facilities, but because of the hostile crowd that can definitely play a role in the outcome of games.

Sure, the max capacity states that Mountaineer Field can only hold about 60,000 fans, but there have been instances where the official attendance exceeded that number and the No. 1 all-time game played here happened in November 1993 when the No. 9 West Virginia Mountaineers defeated the No. 4 Miami Hurricanes in front of over 70,000 fans.

Home-field advantage doesn’t get much more intense than it is in West Virginia and these fans are hungry for a national title.

The recent renovations have made this place pretty awesome as well as new LED screens were put at each corner of the stadium and the locker rooms were completely redone.
Tradition plus value equals top stadium.
