17. Memorial Stadium (Nebraska)

Nebraska may not be having its most successful season in school history, currently sitting at a couple games under .500 and looking to avoid missing out on a bowl game in 2015, but Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium still gets packed every Saturday to watch the Cornhuskers play.

Just last week, Nebraska’s home-field advantage played a large role in the unbeaten and No. 7 Michigan State Spartans epic collapse in the final minutes of play that gave the Cornhuskers a big win to keep postseason hope alive.

Memorial Stadium just screams tradition. Not only does it have a record crowd of over 90,000 people, but the Cornhuskers have sold out over 340 consecutive games, dating all the way back to 1962.

To put that into context, Memorial Stadium has expanded from a capacity of 31,000 to 90,000 during that time, and the fans still keep piling in through the gates despite the thousands of seats being added over the last 50 years.

Moving over from the Big 12 Conference just a few years ago, the Cornhuskers have already made their mark on the Big Ten and no team in the league wants to travel to Lincoln, although the fans are remarkably hospitable. If you’re an opposing fan, though, don’t be intimidated by the large, hostile crowd as it will be one of the best experiences you will ever have.
