15. Beaver Stadium (Penn State)

Once known for its iconic head coach who has gone down as one of the more forgettable men in college football history because of a scandal involving his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno can still be recognized as one of the godfathers of Penn State football.

This program would not be where it is today if it weren’t for the late head coach and former college football icon who roamed the Beaver Stadium sidelines in Happy Valley almost since it was built. The stadium was built in 1960 and Paterno became the head coach in 1966.

Often replicated, but never duplicated, the “We Are Penn State” chant that echoes through the stadium is the product of over 107,000 white-clad fans. Yes, these fans are so dedicated and loyal to the Nittany Lions that they successful pull off “white outs” on a regular basis. The sight is really something to behold.

Beaver Stadium is the second-largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere and the third-largest in the entire world with over a hundred thousand strong on hand during every Saturday home game.

If there was ever an atmosphere to be intimidated by, it would be the blinding white crowd at Beaver Stadium.
