13. Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium (Texas)

Remember when the Texas Longhorns were one of the premier teams in college football and Mack Brown had national powerhouses every single year? It seems like it’s been so long ago, but the burnt orange faithful have stuck around through the tough times, packing Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium to the brim and giving opposing teams something to fear when coming to town.

The last time Texas won a national title, Vince Young was the quarterback and Mack Brown still had nearly a decade left in his coaching tank. Texas had won three other national titles before that, all while playing their home games at Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, which was built back in 1924.

Originally, the capacity was just 27,000 but it has since risen to just a fraction over 100,000 making it one of the select few members of that illustrious 100K club.

Having one of the best atmospheres to take in a college ball game, the “Godzillatron” located in the south end zone is exactly what it sounds like. Heck, you can almost see it from space as it takes up the entire south part of the stadium.

Millions of renovation dollars have gone toward upgrading everything the stadium has to offer from the already-impressive fan experience to the locker rooms.
