Georgia Bulldog fans are growing restless these days. Not only have the Bulldogs failed to win a national title since 1980, but they haven’t won the SEC title since 2005 and head coach Mark Richt might be on thin ice right now. Although he’s in danger of getting canned, he still knows he has a job to do, and do it he will.

Aspirations of a national title may have gotten the best of the head coach as he has squandered some top-tier recruiting class, leading to three-straight three-plus loss seasons in Athens, Georgia.

Sanford Stadium remains packed, though. The nearly 93,000 fans who have tickets to every game still show up and show their support on game day even though they likely hit up local post-game radio shows to vent about what they had just witnessed after a loss.

Playing at Sanford Stadium is known as playing “Between the Hedges” because of the shrubbery that had surrounded the field before it was taken down decades ago. It has since been replaced by much shorter hedges.

Another stadium on this list to play host to Olympics, Sanford Stadium played host to men’s and women’s soccer games in the 1996 games.
