50 best college football stadiums
1. Ohio Stadium (Ohio State)
If you’re looking to visit Ohio Stadium to witness your favorite team upset the Ohio State Buckeyes, don’t count on it. This is one of those venues in which a road win was only likely during the years in which the Buckeyes were down. Such was the case a few years ago when Jim Tressel resigned over the players selling their conference title rings for tattoos controversy.
Luke Fickell took over as head coach and the Buckeyes had one of their worst seasons in school history – under Ohio State standards. Urban Meyer took over and made Columbus, Ohio, one of those places in which road teams stand little to no chance.
Over 104,000 fans pack the stadium on a weekly basis and it’s a pretty impressive sight to see as The Horseshoe becomes one of the most impressive venues in the country during Saturdays in the fall – and I’m talking better than most professional stadiums as well.
The history and winning tradition at Ohio State is unmatchable and the “Seven Nation Army” and “O-H-I-O” chants are to be heard for miles.
