Will Sam Smith and Lorde make cameos during tonight’s SNL music performance?
Saturday Night Live is known for it’s surprise cameos from week to week, and while we haven’t really seen many so far this year we could be in store for a doozy tonight. The biggest surprise cameo of the season has been Larry David playing Bernie Sanders on two occasions, but Nicki Minaj made a musical cameo when she performed with The Weeknd last month.
We could see not one but two surprise musical cameos tonight.
Disclosure will be the musical guest tonight on SNL, but both Sam Smith and Lorde could be showing up to perform their collaborations with the band. Smith makes a ton of sense as a surprise performer, as the latest James Bond film — Spectre — features his single ‘Writing on the Wall’ as it’s main theme.
Lorde also makes sense as she is trying to support her single that she recorded with Disclosure. Either way, both Sam Smith and Lorde are headline acts who could be solo musical acts in their own right, but could combine to give us one of the best musical performances of the season.
Further support for this idea that the duo will show up tonight was seen in the final SNL promo — which both artists were featured in.
