Kamar Aiken-Baltimore Ravens

Back before the Ravens bye week in week 9, Steve Smith Sr. was lost for the season with an Achilles’ injury amid the carnage that was week 8 in fantasy football.  In Smith’s absence, the Ravens will need a new #1 WR option and a place to go with Smith’s big batch of targets.

While their depth is depleted at receiver, the first up to get a chance to grab the job is Kamar Aiken a third-year receiver from UCF.  Aiken has been up and down this season but he has shown some flashes of promise, but getting inconsistent targets at times across form target-hog Steve Smith.  Aiken hauled in all six passes thrown his way in week 8 against the Chargers finishing with 62 yards.  He has at least 60 yards in four games this season but had under 25 in his other four. I expect his production to even out some now that he’ll be the top target for Joe Flacco almost without a challenger until rookie Breshad Perriman is ready to make his debut.

Aiken is surprisingly affordable on both DraftKings (4,500) and FanDuel (5,400) for today and is on the waiver wire in 55% of ESPN leagues. He is high-risk from the perspective that he’s never been a #1 option in a receiving game for an extended period of time, but I actually think he’s relatively low risk since he’ll keep getting high volume of passes thrown his way.
