Shaun Draughn-RB-San Francisco 49ers (9.3%)

The 49ers lost all their running backs before their bye and also made a big change at QB taking the ball away from Colin Kaepernick and giving Blaine Gabbert the start.  Even without Carlos Hyde, Reggie Bush, and Mike Davis, Gabbert won with a backfield made up of Kendall Gaskins and two players San Francisco snatched up off the street.  The best of the backs, though, was definitely former-Browns, Chargers, Ravens, and Chiefs rusher Shaun Draughn

Draughn ran for 58 yards on 16 carries and added 38 yards on four catches.  He surprised everyone with his performance just six days after joining the team and should have become much more familiar with the offense. Draughn’s role is unsure coming into week 11, though, since Carlos Hyde could be coming back.

Hyde missed two weeks before the bye week and coach Jim Tomsula has been noncommittal about his status for this week.  Tomsula said he is feeling better but is still not up to full speed.  If Hyde is limited or can’t give it a go this week, Draughn would get another chance this week.

Unfortunately for Draughn’s prospects, it’s a bad matchup this week against the Seahawks, but he’s still worth considering since he does have a chance at taking a good chunk of the work. He could easily be a starter this week, and that potential makes him worth a waiver wire claim this week.
