Denard Span, CF

Much like his teammate Fister, Span had one of the worst seasons of his career at the wrong time to lower his stock hitting free agency. However, Span stands out as one of the more likely bounce-back candidates and could start in center for many teams at a reasonable cost.

Injuries limited Span heavily in 2015, as he hit the disabled list three separate times, including to both start and end the year. Span posted 1.4 WAR for the season, the lowest mark of his career according to FanGraphs.

A season-ending hip injury is certainly a concern moving forward, so Span isn’t going to get a huge payday. Still, he’s been strong at the plate throughout his career and will be a nice value pickup with a fully healthy season.

Even with all of the injury concerns, Span posted a 120 wRC+ in 61 games last season. Span also provides value with his baserunning ability, and has been an above-average center fielder for most of his career.

Span will be well worth the contract he gets if he can return to being a 3-4 win player. The Mariners would be a nice fit, while the Cubs could also take a look if Dexter Fowler heads elsewhere.
