5. Johnny Manziel – Cleveland Browns

If Johnny Manziel is the quarterback of your actual football team, I feel sorry for you. For all of the things that he’s shown, the ability to win football games in the NFL isn’t one of them. That being said, one thing that Johnny Football has shown this season is that he can put up impressive stats, even if that doesn’t result in a victory. However, that could result in a victory in fantasy if he were picked up to replace the injured Flacco.

In Manziel’s four appearances of consequence this season, the second-year quarterback has put up fantasy outings of eight, 14, 13, and 15 in order. Most notable is the 15-point outing from Week 10 when Manziel threw the ball all over the field and finished the night with 372 yards passing. It was only 15 points due to two turnovers and the fact that he only found the end zone once. However, the fact that he’s capable of throwing for near-400 yards is promising.

Like anything ever is with Manziel, picking him up would be a major risk. He’s undeniably turnover-prone and is liable to implode at any given moment. Contrarily, Manziel has also shown that he can make big plays at the NFL level and that he can put up big numbers in terms of yardage. Toss in the fact that he’s always a threat to run as a mobile quarterback and there’s value to be had if you were to pick up Johnny Football to replace Joe Flacco.
