Shaun Draughn-San Francisco 49ers

Finding a starting running back on the waiver wire at this point in the season can be almost impossible in season-long leagues, and once you get out of the top half of running backs on DraftKings and FanDuel playing time can get pretty thin.  One exception to that this week is Shaun Draughn of the 49ers who is expected to get most of the work in the San Francisco offense with Carlos Hyde missing another week.

Draughn just joined San Francisco days before they’re week 9 upset over Atlanta, but he still had a good game running for 58 yards on 16 carries and adding 38 yards on four catches.  Draughn and ‘Niners has last week off, but they’re back in action today in a difficult matchup against Seattle.

While the matchup definitely isn’t a favorable one, Draughn still is a incredible value since he’ll get touches.  He is on the waiver wire in almost 90% of ESPN leagues, and could be started as an RB2 if bye weeks and injuries have stretched you thin.  He has a high floor since he is going to get work and some points even if his ceiling isn’t that high because of the matchup and the ineffectiveness of the 49ers offense in general.  On DraftKings, Draughn costs only 3,800, and on FanDuel he’s a very affordable 5,600.  If you need a running back who is going to get touches and have opportunities for week 11, Draughn is one of the first names to look for even though he probably won’t post a monster game and his long-term production will be limited when Hyde returns.
