Andre Ellington-Arizona Cardinals

Unlike West and Draughn, Ellington was highly drafted going in the first few rounds of most fantasy drafts this season. However, many of his owners have moved on from him after an injury-plagued start to the season and his price has plummeted in daily fantasy leagues.

Ellington was assumed to be the feature-back in Arizona, but he lost his job to a rejuvenated Chris Johnson while he was sidelined.  Now the Cardinals view him as a “specialty back” and will mix him in with Chris Johnson (and rookie David Johnson) which does limit his upside.  Ellington reminds everyone of his upside last week, though, running for 61 yards and a touchdown on five carries against Seattle and adding 37 yards on three catches.  If he consistently sees 10 touches per game, he can be a dynamic player who make a good flex option at least and could rise to low RB2 status if his workload is consistent enough in the prolific Cardinals attack.

This week, Ellington and the Cardinals host the Bengals on Sunday Night Football.  It should be a fascinating game to watch, and as you do make sure to keep an eye on the Cardinals backfield timeshare.  Ellington should definitely be added in the 42% of leagues where he was dropped, and if you have to go cheap on DraftKings (3,700) or FanDuel (5,400), Ellington does offer some flashy upside.  He’s not going to get the workload that Draughn will, but he’s in a better offense and a better matchup.  If you don’t mind the risk that comes with his timeshare, Ellington is a solid play week 11 since he finally looks healthy and is a dynamic playmaker when he gets the chance
