Five college football programs Chip Kelly is likely to end up at
After Steve Spurrier left South Carolina, the program has began getting ready to hire the next coach that will once again make them a force in the SEC. Things haven’t been going well for South Carolina in 2015, and the program just lost a game to The Citadel.
The Gamecocks are going to need a coach to completely revamp everything and instill an offense that can outpace any team that they play. Chip Kelly can bring that offense and once again make the Gamecocks competitive on the offensive side of the football, which the Gamecocks desperately need. They are currently ranked 109th in the nation, with an average of 21 points per game and they really struggle to move the ball.
A Chip Kelly offense would fix that. Of all the appealing jobs that will be open to Kelly if he leaves Philadelphia, South Carolina is probably in the middle of the list. Still that doesn’t make it a bad job. It’s a job in the SEC and Kelly would have an opportunity to compete among the best coaches in college football.
While it will be tougher than recruiting talent than other schools, Kelly would have his opportunity to leave his mark on the power football that is ran in the SEC. Just imagine an offense like Kelly’s shaking up the order of things in the SEC, by putting up an absurd amount of points each week. South Carolina would allow him to be the visionary that he is.
If LSU isn’t open to him, South Carolina could very well be the next best thing available.
