5. New York Jets

The New York Jets sit at 5-5 heading into Week 12 of the NFL season and will be at home in MetLife Stadium to take on the 4-6 Miami Dolphins. Neither of the two teams has been particularly impressive as of late with Miami losing three of their last four games (the one win coming narrowly over the Eagles) and with the Jets having lost four of their last five (their one win being over the Jacksonville Jaguars). With both teams struggling, there’s no way that the Jets—even at home—should be four-point favorites in this matchup.

Coming into the season, you would have said that the best thing that the Jets do is one the defensive side of the ball. Due to injuries, fatigue, and other things, that stellar New York defense has been slipping as of late, though. There’s no better evidence of this than in Week 11 when the Houston Texans were able to dissect the Jets with T.J. Yates starting at quarterback and Alfred Blue starting at running back. Moreover, it’s looking more and more likely that New York will be without Darrelle Revis against the Dolphins.

For all of the issues that Miami has had this season, the potential of their offense to click on any Sunday at the office is always there. Lamar Miller, Jarvis Landry, and Ryan Tannehill all have the talent to piece together an effective offensive attack. With the Jets defense as banged up as ever in addition to already not performing particularly well, the Dolphins have a great chance of going on the road and knocking off the Jets despite being underdogs.
