Good God are the Miami Dolphins bad. For the second time this season they lost to a decent (but completely vulnerable) New York Jets team. Even worse, the Dolphins made the Jets look like world-beaters. In what world does Ryan Fitzpatrick light up teams for four touchdowns, no interceptions and over 250 yards? Miami’s dysfunctional reality, that’s where.

Before piling on more, let’s take a moment to acknowledge just how special Jarvis Landry is. There doesn’t seem to be a week that passes where he’s without a spectacular catch. If Ryan Tannehill pans out and lives up to his monstrous contract, he’ll owe plenty of that success to his safety net wide receiver.

And now, back to the bad. There is a pall over the Dolphins’ locker room. It’s been a black cloud ever since the Jonathan Martin-Richie Incognito hoopla from a few years back. And while those knuckleheads are gone, Ndamukong Suh is equally as distracting. All season there have been reports of him going rogue on plays and, after this game, telling teammates they can’t hold his jock (paraphrasing slightly). There just appears to be more contentiousness than camaraderie.

One almost has to feel bad for Dan Campbell, as the weight of this cluster he’s inherited is probably greater than most realize. He’s been burdened with s Sisyphean task.
