Loser:

Chicago Cubs

With Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester and company, the Cubs have a rotation that can keep them very competitive in the National League Central. In 2015, the Cubs had an amazing season with young talent coming together to propel them forward.

They should remain one of the most exciting teams to watch going forward with Joe Maddon at the helm, but just imagine what could have happened if they got Maddon’s old ace on the Chicago Cubs.

When the David Price sweepstakes began, many thought the Cubs would be a great option, because of how dominant their pitching staff could be with Price and his ties to Maddon.

Now they don’t have Price and will just have to imagine what could have been. Now it’s hard to blame the Cubs here, because a $217 million price tag is expensive for anyone to handle and they are going to have to pay some of their star young players very soon, not to mention the money they just handed out last season.

Still, if they wanted to go all in and really give themselves a great chance at finally ending the curse, Price could have been a great step toward it.
