NFL Mock Draft: Week 13 Wednesday edition

The Philadelphia Eagles have been a giant heaping pile of “what the hell is going on in Chip Kelly’s mind.” Trades out the wazoo, pickups, drops, good days, bad days, unfounded allegations. It’s been a bizarre world down at the Linc.
Sam Bradford has proven that he’s too fragile to ever be a reliable quarterback in the league. DeMarco Murray was better suited to the north-south game in Dallas. And as for the playmakers … yeah, where’d those guys go again?
On a team widely lauded for its defensive prowess, Connor Cook has led a surprisingly effective offense during his tenure at Michigan State.
The best thing going in Cook’s favor has been his ability to progress each year. Unlike other quarterbacks who tend to flatline (see: Christian Hackenberg), Cook has consistently bettered his game. He works at honing his accuracy, and is not the kind of guy who will take many risks on the field. Cook does a nice job playing within himself.
He’s perhaps not the kind of player who will come in and directly start 16 games (he’s not in the Andrew Luck/Peyton Manning savior mold), but he will push for the gig in Year 1. After learning from the sidelines, he can step in and shepherd a franchise. Cook is an intelligent player, and with the right team can be a viable starter in the league.
