The Washington Wizards were the latest team to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant is going to receive a grand gesture from just about every opposing arena he visits this season, albeit maybe not some Western Conference rivals. Nonetheless, the Los Angeles Lakers legend is beginning to receive praise and a thank you from each team the Lakers visit on the road.

After an emotional homecoming last night in Philadelphia, the Lakers hit the road to take on the Washington Wizards. While Kobe wasn’t presented with a framed jersey or anything, the Wizards decided to thank Bryant for all his years in the league, with a nice message on the video board at center court.

After his retirement announcement, the tributes are beginning to roll in for Bryant, and they should be with everything that he has given the game during his long illustrious career. Whether you loved him or hated him, there is no denying his mark on the game of basketball.

The Wizards recognized everything that he has done for the league and had the opportunity to extend a thanks. There’s a good chance that many teams will be following suit, and extending a thank you to Kobe as well.

Let the farewell tour commence.
