St. Louis Rams

While the threat of possibly being relocated to Los Angeles, Denver or even London looms large, getting the best young tailback in the league in year two with Todd Gurley is at least something Gruden should consider. Gurley is widely considered the best running back prospect to enter the NFL in eight years since Adrian Peterson left Oklahoma a year early to join the Minnesota Vikings.

Sure, the Rams passing attack is by far the worst in football, but Gruden could get more out of Nick Foles or Case Keenum than current head coach Jeff Fisher can. The Rams have lost four straight and at 4-7, owner Stan Kroenke may have to part ways with the perpetually .500 NFL coach.

Gruden would add a spark to the Rams that they haven’t had since the Mike Martz days, but with a familiar feel of the Dick Vermeil Era. St. Louis already has a good general manager in Les Snead, who orchestrated the best trade robbery ever in the RGIII deal with Washington, and an at times killer defense, due in large part because of that 2012 trade.

This is the worst of the potential head coaching gigs Gruden could potentially go to with regards to quarterbacks. The Rams haven’t made the NFC Playoffs since 2004 and Gruden could stand as the man who gets this struggling NFC team back into the postseason.
