Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks once drafted Pau Gasol, before his rights ended up with the Memphis Grizzlies. Pau Gasol wearing the Hawks’ colors would certainly be something that is fun to watch.

This off-season, the Atlanta Hawks are going to have to pay Al Horford. They have plenty of cap space to do so, but if a big market or someone else lures Horford away from Atlanta, then the Hawks are going to need a fallback plan and quick to replace what Horford brings to the team.

With the Hawks running an offense that likes to spread the court and preach ball movement, along with tough defense, then Gasol might be the veteran to replace Horford, should they lose him.

With Gasol high in the post, he can turn away and make jumpers or finesse his way inside for points. With the bevy of three-point shooters that the Atlanta Hawks have, Gasol could also be a perfect fit and feed his teammates with open looks.

Like Horford, the Hawks could work their way inside with Gasol and then work their way back out for some open looks. Everyone knows how deadly that the Hawks offense can be when they’re functioning. Gasol would allow the process to keep moving.
