4. Kansas City Chiefs

After starting off the season with a hardly respectable 1-5 start, just about everyone was writing the Kansas City Chiefs. Just a couple of months later, the Chiefs are riding a five-game winning streak into Week 13. Given that, it’s not surprising that Kansas City is looking to be favored on the road as they take their show on the road to o.Co Coliseum to take on a divisional foe in the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders’ recent run of games stands in stark contrast to how the Chiefs have been playing as of later. After being anointed as a possible dark horse in the playoff race early in the season, the Raiders have been falling off in a major way. Their defense hasn’t been doing the things well that got them into the postseason conversation earlier in the year and their offense seems to have hit a major road block as the likes of Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, and Latavius Murray not looking nearly as effective as they did early on.

However, there’s no denying the potential of that Raiders’ offense while the Chiefs remain one of the hardest teams to gauge in terms of quality around the league. That being said, there’s a foreseeable scenario in play for this game where the Raiders come out, hit on some big plays earl to take a lead, and then Alex Smith having to try to carry his team closer to their opponents. Smith has been better than solid this season, but that’s not a scenario that inspires much confidence.
