Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler of the Denver Broncos probably wouldn’t have been making this list just a few weeks ago, but with what he’s done for the Denver Broncos, he’s vastly improved his stock in the NFL. Prior to this year, Osweiler was only a backup, only appearing in 13 games over three seasons. But this year, with a foot injury to Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning, a huge door was opened for Osweiler.

With the Broncos not wanting to lose ground in the playoff race, there was a lot of pressure to win. Since Osweiler was trusted as the starter, they have not lost a game, winning against even the New England Patriots, a game they were not supposed to win.

Peyton Manning is supposed to be starting rehab soon, but at this point it looks like there’s no rush for him to come back to the field. Osweiler clearly has things under control.

Maybe, all along that’s all Osweiler really needed, just a little bit of control, and a little bit of trust. If a team were to give him the sole starting job, he might be able to reach a new level in the NFL. He’s certainly shown late in this season that he’s worth a shot in this league. When you do just as good as Peyton Manning would have been able to, you’ve certainly earned some respect.
