Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins is the underdog of this season, for sure. He’s been the Washington Redskins starter all season, and had lots of doubts thrown at him throughout the year. Despite that, there’s a lot to like about Cousins, and there are lots of teams that could use a quarterback like him under center.

First off is his competition percentage, that’s ever-so-increasing throughout the course of his career. His 68.4% completion percentage this season is the best it’s ever been in his career, and accuracy is a great quality to have.

On top of that, Cousins has thrown for over 2,700 yards this season, a career high for him by over 1,000 yards. He’s had a quarterback rating of 91.7 so far this season.

Cousins had a big game against the New Orleans Saints, and exploited their awful defense with four touchdowns in one game this season.

One alarming thing with Cousins is that he’s been sacked 17 times already this year. It’s hard not to wonder what he could have done this season if he had a bit more protection, so maybe if he ends up somewhere that can give him more of a wall, he can do even better.

I’m not sure the Redskins will want to give Cousins up with a lot of questions surrounding Robert Griffin III, so they may offer him a big deal. If not, it’s certain that he will be offered a lot of money elsewhere.
