31. <p>The New York Giants are in a tight race for the top spot in the NFC East with the Washington Redskins, given how awful the division has they can’t afford to lose if they want to make the playoffs.</p> <p>The Giants dropped the ball against a quality New York Jets team that they could’ve beaten. The Giants needed big plays to stay in the game, but they were getting them.</p> <p>The game went to overtime and the Giants defense stifled the Jets offense in the red zone to force a field goal instead of a game-winning touchdown. When the Giants got possession they got within range of a 48-yard field goal, but it sailed wide left and the Giants lost the game instead of extending it.</p> <p>It seems like no one in the NFC East wants to win the division in any kind of convincing fashion. To put this into perspective, the Giants loss means the 3-8 Cowboys will be a game out of first place in the NFC East and a playoff berth if the can beat the Redskins on Monday Night Football.
