10 potential head coach replacements for Chuck Pagano
6. Adam Gase
One of the guys that seems primed to become a head coach very soon in this league, is Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase. Gase was brought over to the Bears, after he was on the staff of the Denver Broncos with John Fox.
Gase has already had head coaching interviews, and teams already highly value his ability to call an offense. With the success that he has had with Jay Cutler in 2015, making Cutler look resurgent, Gase is certainly going to be interviewed by many teams that will have a head coach search after the season.
If making quarterbacks successful is what he does, then Gase should be one of the first guys that the Indianapolis Colts interview in the off-season.
He could be the quarterback whisperer that Andrew Luck needs to take the next step in his quarterback journey, and that’s going from good to great. Luck has shown greatness, but this year was a bit of regression for him, albeit he did suffer from nagging injuries.
Gase is a long term option as a head coach. Whoever hires him, sees him as a coach that can stick around in this league for a very long time. While it might have been hard to gauge him in Denver with Peyton Manning as his quarterback, this season has been more of a benefit to him.
If Chuck Pagano goes in Indianapolis, then Gase could very well be one of their best options.
