Chris Polk-RB-Houston Texans (2.0%)

Polk stepped in for the injured Alfred Blue who was limited to just four carries, and he had a very solid game this Sunday against a tough Bills defense.  Polk took his 12 carries for a solid 61 yards against Buffalo averaging 5.1 yards per carry.  He also hauled in his only target for 11 yards although he didn’t get into the end zone to add the frosting on top of his big game.

Polk has shown well when given the chance, but he still will be in a timeshare with Blue and Jonathan Grimes at least for the foreseeable future.  Polk is the best of the bunch, though, and if you can’t grab Abdullah, White, or Sims he makes a decent flier option.

Polk and the Texans are taking on New England this week against the suddenly struggling Patriots.  If he stays the main option, he has favorable matchups the rest of the way after the Pats.  Thanks to his team’s place in the AFC South, Polk finishes off the season with the Colts, Titans, and Jaguars.  Those three matchups make him worth a speculative stash if you might need a running back in the coming weeks, but he’ll need to secure the top spot int he committee before you can play him with confidence.
