DraftKings daily fantasy hockey picks: December 13 lineup
High Salary Center
Matt Duchene-Colorado Avalanche ($6,100): Duchene’s salary normally wouldn’t put him in the high salary center category but with so few choices tonight it does, as only two centers, John Tavares and teammate Nathan MacKinnon, are ahead of him. Duchene has 15 goals and 11 assists this season and is currently on a hot streak of points in five of his last six games. Colorado plays a tough game against St. Louis tonight but Duchene will be counted on heavily to produce. Go ahead and deploy him.
Jonathan Toews-Chicago Blackhawks ($6,000): Toews is another center whose price is usually not considered among the highest, but it is tonight. He found the back of the net Friday night and now has nine goals and eight assists this season. He’s not putting up the same kind of production as in years past, but tonight, he’ll make a good play against Vancouver.
High Value Center
Henrik Sedin-Vancouver Canucks ($5,100): The Vancouver center is still priced very low for someone who has registered 29 points in 30 games. Sedin has always been known as a great assist man, and that has held true this season. 20 of his points have come via the assist. He racked up two helpers Thursday night and will look to keep it going in a tough matchup with Chicago tonight.
Frans Nielsen-New York Islanders ($5,200): Nielsen continued to roll on Saturday night with a goal on his only shot of the game, giving him three points in the last two games. Nielsen’s salary is still low considering the fact that he has already put up 21 points this season. The veteran center has been great and owners who have taken advantage have been rewarded.
David Backes-St. Louis Blues ($5,000): Backes makes for a strong fantasy play tonight. He’s on a hot streak with goals now in three straight games. Saturday night against Dallas he scored and also added an assist. Backes has solid production and a low price that will help you afford some of the high-priced wingers you’ll want to use tonight.
