PG—Jameer Nelson ($4,200)

This one was a pretty easy call considering price, opportunity, and recent performance. The Denver Nuggets will be without Emmanuel Mudiay on Monday night due to an injury and, considering how things played out on Friday when the rookie was injured, Jameer Nelson is going to be the beneficiary of those minutes on Monday against the Houston Rockets.

As Nelson filled in for Mudiay on Friday night, he had a monster night, albeit in an overtime matchup. The veteran point guard filled up the box score in every capacity and finished the night 38.7 fantasy points. If you get anything close to that on Monday night with his price only at $4,200, you’re undoubtedly going to be pleased with his production.

The matchup with the Rockets is also intriguing considering the potential for this game to turn into a shootout, just like Houston wants it to. While that doesn’t bode particularly well for the Nuggets as they look to pick up a victory, it does seem favorable for Nelson as he’ll get plenty of opportunities to score, run the break and rack up assists, and even turn the Rockets over to pile up defensive stats. There’s no better sleeper pick on Monday at any position than Nelson.
