(4-9). Previous: . san francisco 49ers. 32. team. 42.
The woes continued on Sunday for the San Francisco 49ers, and once again it was not pretty. They went on the road to face off against the Cleveland Browns and they were taken to the woodshed, 24-10. To make matters worse, in the eyes of some they were blasted by a Browns team that started the polarizing Johnny Manziel at quarterback.

If there was at least one bit of news to come out of this one, it’s the fact that the 49ers were officially eliminated from playoff contention. That’s not all that shocking of a stat, but noteworthy this time of the year nonetheless.

At 4-9 on the year, this 49ers team has a lot of figure out as they head into next season, particularly at the quarterback position. Blaine Gabbert, while he has been garnering some positive attention as of late, did not have the best outing on Sunday, throwing for just 194 yards and a touchdown. It’s pretty clear that he is not the answer.

There is a lot of soul-searching that this team has to do, and being out of playoff contention now and in the running for a pretty high draft pick, they had better start evaluating everything that have to do to get back to the top.
