(8-5). Previous: . kansas city chiefs. 7. team. 124.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the most improbable story the National Football League has seen in years. The Chiefs were supposed to be one of the best teams in the league heading into the season but then fell apart to start the campaign.

Kansas City won its season opener over the Houston Texans before dropping five consecutive games, including a game against the Chicago Bears when they watched superstar running back Jamaal Charles go down with a season-ending torn ACL. With Charles out and the Chiefs at 1-5, it appeared it was safe to turn out the lights on this franchise which can never seem to get out of its own way.

Then, amazingly, the Chiefs rose from the dead and have won seven straight games. Kansas City was able to beat the San Diego Chargers 10-3 in a rain-soaked affair at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon and currently holds the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoff picture.

With the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders remaining in the schedule, the Chiefs will be favored in every game the rest of the way. If the Chiefs continue to play really solid, balanced football, they could be one of the true sleepers to make a run at the Super Bowl.
