29. team. 35. <p>The Titans are a grease fire. They’re flashy, they’re cool to watch for a little bit but they’re mostly dangerous for your health. Marcus Mariota is the future of the franchise, and the head coaching opening is one of the most attractive openings entering the offseason. The appeal that Mariota has is going to draw some interesting candidates, but that’s all in the future.</p> <p>In the here and now, the Titans are miserable. They can’t score, they can’t do anything right and they have such garbage receiving options that their quarterback has to catch the ball for them and score.</p> <p>There might be a bright future ahead for the Titans if they land the right head coach, develop the right core of players around Mariota and get better defensively. But that’s a laundry list of things the Titans must do before they’re even remotely interesting as a football team — let alone contenders in the AFC.</p> <p>Luckily for them, the AFC South is garbage, and still winnable for bad teams. That might not be true next year, but the Titans at least have that to look forward to next year as they try to strip everything down and rebuild the Mariota era the proper way.</p>. (3-10).
