AFC playoff scenarios, Week 15: Bengals, Broncos can clinch
Record: 6-7
Current seed: No. 4
Remaining schedule: vs. Houston, at Miami, vs. Tennessee
Where they stand
Frankly, the Indianapolis colts are a bad football team. After losing seven of their first 13 games, they still somehow find themselves not only in a playoff spot but actually hosting a game in the postseason should it all begin today. The Colts are clinging to first place in the woeful AFC South, despite giving up a ridiculous 51 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
Should the division slip away, the playoffs will be out of reach, with the wild card teams two games ahead of them and all the tiebreakers going the other way.
What needs to happen
Indianapolis can not officially clinch anything this weekend, but it could get awfully close. The Colts are welcoming the Houston Texans into Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the winner likely going into the playoffs and the loser heading home ina few weeks. The Colts are not sure of who will be the starting quarterback, with Andrew Luck coming back from a lacerated kidney and Matt Hasselbeck in a sling.
A win would put the Colts a game ahead of the Texans with the tiebreaker. They would only need to beat either the Titans or Dolphins to clinch the fourth seed.
