High Salary C

John Tavares-New York Islanders ($7,900): Tavares broke out of his four-game pointless streak on Sunday with a goal against New Jersey. He’s cheaper than Tyler Seguin, and while the fantasy production isn’t the same, its solid at 3.8 points a game. Tonight he gets a matchup against Florida. The Panthers ranks 24th against centers, setting Tavares up for a nice night.

Steven Stamkos-Tampa Bay Lightning ($7,100): Stamkos has a salary that’s a bit below the others and that helps to make him one of the best options available at center tonight. Although he managed just one shot Monday night he did have a two-game point streak prior and has collected five points over the last seven games. Tonight he gets a great matchup with Columbus and will look to start a new streak. Take Stamkos and enjoy the ride.

High Value C

Leon Draisaitl-Edmonton Oilers ($4,700): Draisaitl has really showed up on the fantasy radar recent and firmly stayed there with his four assists on Friday night. He wasn’t able to follow that performance up on Monday, as he was held pointless against the Bruins. Prior to Monday he had an amazing eight points through four games. It won’t last, but enjoy it while it does, especially for a price below $5,000.

Frans Nielsen- New York Islanders ($5,200): Nielsen has been on fire this season with 22 points in 31 games. He didn’t produce a point on Sunday and didn’t even take a shot, giving his fantasy owners an undesirable goose egg. However, he does have three goals in the last three games and is a great source of production for the price.

Boone Jenner-Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,600): Jenner isn’t a household name in the NHL but he’s quietly put together a solid season in Columbus with 12 goals and six assists. He has a goal and an assist in his last two games after going seven games without a point. He failed to produce a point Monday night but Jenner can be useful in fantasy hockey even when he’s not scoring. Take him and enjoy the savings.

Dennis Rasmussen-Chicago Blackhawks ($2,600): Rasmussen is just four games into his NHL career but he’s already had success. He has two goals and an assist so far and was spectacular on Sunday when he scored and added an assist against Vancouver. He’s still a speculative fantasy play, but with an average of 2.9 fantasy points through four games and a price below the $3,000 he’s too good to pass over.
